Task 4: The brand

What is a mission statement?

A mission statement is a short statement created by a business/company to portray to their consumers a more straight-to-the-point message (ranging from a sentence to a small paragraph in length) for what their business's aim and mission is, these mission statements can mention objectives such as; their position they want their company to be in (such as being the world's number one company for example) to the mention of their products (from general business to creative opportunities).

What is brand positioning?

Brand positioning is a strategy used by businesses to reach to the minds of their target audience to own a personalised and different position which means they want to make a stand out brand to consumers so they can associate a product to the business's branding which further escalates their position to the top and also increases profits along the way. Example of brand positioning with notable branding is Apple as it presents it's branding as high-tech which defines it as a luxury as in comparison to other leading brands like Windows and Android, which leaves a more common and less luxurious branding identity and positioning to consumers as it's not marketed in the same way as Apple products.

What, in business, is meant by values and drivers?

In business, values are principles put in place to ensure the wellbeing of the company for the future. This means by adding principles such as accountability, integrity and honesty but they basically all fall under the same meanings which are positive points to use in a workplace to ensure everyone is well cared for when employed to a business. Meanwhile, drivers in business are an input curated by businesses in order to operate or 'drive' their finances and operations, meaning this is put in place so the performance of the business can improve and should further up their sales and profits.

How can an individual, business or organisation market themselves?

For how a individual, business or organisation market themselves to consumers is by using various methods such as; social media presence, which has shown to be useful for most modern day businesses starting out, advertising through websites such as Google or YouTube advertising, through community events such as job fairs, paid promotions sponsored through content creators or influencers and posters/leaflets/business cards given out to the general public. Most of these are successful online due to the popularity of online presence and it can be much more easier and simpler to set up an advertising campaign to promote the business to an target audience, in-person can also help to establish a friendly and outgoing image to the business.

In business, what is a blueprint and how would this relate to customers and marketing?

Within business, a blueprint is essentially a drawn up version of a business's model or plan as this can be used to allow owners and other higher ups to see all of the sectors needed for assembly before starting and setting up the business fully. This can relate to customers and marketing as it can build up a visualised diagram on various scenarios (such as what a customer might do when interacting with the business to process on when receiving those services) so they can dissect what they can do correctly to promote themselves and to also guarantee customer satisfactory.
