Original Concept
Some notes I made during the process of making this concept
Soft and simple logo
Red for youth, teaching possibly younger people
Purple border for representing creativity
Blue for trusting the company for the teachings
Circles equal commitment as we will commit to hitting our most desired roles/projects. Circle represents a ball which is commonly used as a starting point for animation
Two characters, young and older. To show off that we will teach you the work behind animation. Animation reference in the bubble.
Speech bubble might be removed, or same colour as Animystery logo
Possibly layer more dogs?

5 Digitized Ideas
Analysis/Decisions
I chose orange as the main colour as it represents; cheerful, confidence and adventure. I did try out other colours such as purple, blue and red but I felt like they didn’t fit any of the logo ideas/styles. For each of them, I chose to use a fox as the logo as while being known as a, they can represent; passion, guidance and independence, which I thought would fit nicely with my business idea, which is about helping inexperienced people to learn 2D animation while also having experienced people on board to create content that's both client based and original projects. Another reason for adding the fox as the face of the branding is that most popular brands especially in the media area, always tend to have a notable character or mascot for their branding. For the style, I wanted something not overly detailed as most businesses in the market nowadays don’t tend to have complex logos but I still wanted it to stand out from competitors and to also be visible from a distance.
| Font experiments |
Design 1 -- For this design, I went for a circular design as it’s common to see a circular logo used by big businesses as it also fits nicely when it comes to social media branding (e.g. for the profile picture/avatar). Inside of the circle, I wrapped the text around the circle using the font, Lovelo with the colour being the same colour as the background, orange, including a lighter version of the orange as a fill just to add more to the font. I used a free to use stock image of an illustrated fox and coloured it as the same as the background and text.
I overall was okay with the result but I didn’t feel like the fox would fit into the logo nicely as especially from a distance, it might be harder to recognise.
Design 2 -- For this design, I went for a silhouette design which again, was a fox with the text inside/in center. I also duplicated the silhouette to create a shadow of sorts to represent a frame of animation. I used the Lovelo font again as I liked how it looked on the previous design.
I overall was good with the result but to me, it felt like a lot was missing and maybe felt like it was too simple to have a meaning behind it or to link it to animation on first sight.
Design 3 -- For this design, I went reverted back to the circular design again but the difference being that the sides are squiggly, which I felt would give it a more upbeat design which would fit nicely with my brand/business. Again with the fox in center, but this time I used a free to use stock illustrated image. I used the font, Borsok, as I wanted to change up the fonts slightly from previous designs and I also felt like because it was a much more rounded shape of font, I thought it might hit to a more younger demographic and to also fit the theme of animation.
I overall was happy with the design and how the text was laid out, but I am still unsure whether the fox image fits with the branding this time, and also the squiggly sides might make it look weird if ever placed as a social media profile picture.
Design 4 -- For this design, I went for a silhouette design again but this time it was done at a different angle with the text being altered slightly. I chose a stock image of a fox from the internet and drew over it, creating the silhouette in Adobe Photoshop. I duplicated the image and done a similar style to Design 2 where the duplicated image is a lighter colour and layers underneath the main silhouette, to create some sort of drop shadow which could also be a reference to animation frames. I used the font, Chewy, as I liked the roundness of the font.
I overall was ok with the design, though I liked how the text was wrapped as I felt it gave off a vibrant vibe to the branding but still wasn't convinced on the fox silhouette idea as I feel like it needed more added to it, design wise and looked flat.
Design 5 -- For this design, I went for a more low poly style as I've seen it be used with other business branding and it would give the logo a more modern appearance. I created the fox using Adobe Illustrator, again by getting stock image and drawing over/mapping out the shape of the fox's head. I used the font, Borsok, again as I felt it fitted nicely with the poly fox head, and it was wrapped below the head as again, it looked nice with the design.
I overall was really happy with the design, I liked the style of the fox head and also thought that the text fit perfectly with the fox. Though I think my only nitpick with it was that the lines on the fox could be only a tiny bit more thicker just so it stand out more.
Design 6 -- For this design, I went for a geometric style as it’s simple and other businesses commonly use this style. I drew out the fox using Adobe Illustrator where I got a stock image of a fox and drew over using a line tool to create the graphic. I didn't want to wrap the text this time as I felt it would look untidy and it wouldn't fit the shape properly. I used the font, Baron, as I thought that it worked well stylistically with the geometric fox portrait.
I overall was alright with the design as I liked the stylisation of the fox in the center and I also felt like it wasn't too detailed like previous designs but it was simple enough for people to know what it is. Though, I'm not overall keen on the shape around the fox as it looks uneven to me and could be better if the shape was more rounded.

1 Final Main Logo
I ended up choosing Design 6 out of my digitized designs because I really liked the look of it overall as the other fox designs felt too cartoony and/or realistic to fit my brand. Though I did make a few tweaks to the design as when I was looking, I wasn't keen on the shape that surrounds the fox so I changed it from a rectangular shape to a circular shape as I felt that it looked neater and also it was fit nicely on social media branding.
For the social media banner, I wanted to incorporate an animation reference somehow to properly represent the company where ever viewed on the internet/on social media, so what I done is that I drew out the animation timeline in Adobe Photoshop and then counted the amount of frames which followed with sketching out a rough head turn that would loop (when actually put together as an animation), once I tweaked a few frames and aligned them to see if the idea would fit nicely on the banner, I then finished the animation off, which I wanted it to be in the style, similar to designs 2 and 4.
I didn't want the animation to be in the style of the chosen logo as it would've come off as messy and unclear, as I did attempt to make as a banner but I thought the concept looked empty and I didn't know how to fill the space. All of the animation frames were drawn using FireAlpaca. The font used for the slogan is 'Open Sans Extra Bold' while the font for the business name is 'Garet ExtraBold', these were chosen as I wanted it to stand out more clear when being viewed.
