For what makes an animator good is that they should have passion for animation, this is probably through watching animated movies or shows, proper communication and organisation skills and the knowledge of the main principles of animation.
Courses for animation are everywhere online and some even cost nothing to view and learn from. (Helpful for those who want to get into the medium but might not have the budget for it)

Drawing helps massively, recommended taking a sketchbook everywhere you go and doodle

Crowdfunding could be a possibility as it’s easy to set up (but negatives could be that the reach for the project could reach not as many people, so that would also equal to lack of funds) and looking into grants might be useful/effective.
Equipment like drawing tablets, PC computers and animation software are crucial to start up the business as it’s needed to do the work for the business
