My Business Model Canvas
KEY PARTNERS
The key partners and suppliers would be the software we would use to create the animations and edit which would most likely be Adobe, and I would also include the people who would work for my business as we would also work on our own projects, this would help gather an audience and to promote the business. Other businesses/companies who would want to help in building their promotional material would also be a key partner since they supply the income, the brief and marketing for both themselves and us.
The most important motivations for the partnerships would be that work would be produced to earn the money essential for the business (such as employee funds and for specific equipment). This would promote their types of media or product further by making people want to buy that and to also advance the stories given and told by the animators who work for my business.
KEY ACTIVITIES
The key activities that my value proposition requires is productivity as it is needed for when we are working on animated projects which are most likely on a deadline for the most part. Client contact is also a resourceful one so we can build up a following from various marketing campaigns, which in the long run would lead to more work being commissioned and earning more money for this business and can also establish regulars by being welcoming and informative for them.
The most important activities because by having a consistent schedule when producing the animated content, at least it would keep the customer relationships at a positive note so people are happy, this would also keep revenue streams afloat as well. It would also help for the people who work for this business so none of them are overworked by the amount of work given in a certain amount of time (especially for client work).
KEY RESOURCES
The key resources that my value proposition requires is a visible portfolio of all of the animation work on the main business website since it’s needed to present to any possible clients or audiences on what work we do and what to expect from it, as without it would be possibly misleading to someone which then wouldn’t get any business/revenue from. I would also include website layout as important as with an easy and informative navigation, at least clients or the audience wouldn’t get lost and it would bring them onto the sections they wanted to look at.
VALUE PROPOSITION
The core values that we would want to deliver to our audience would be entertainment, high quality and affordable, since it’s key for our business to thrive, if it wasn’t entertaining, not at the best of qualities or overpriced, then no one would be interested in looking into the business.
I am satisfying the needs of wanting to watch something, whether that be an advertisement or a short film.
AUDIENCE RELATIONSHIPS
The type of relationship my target audience would expect to establish would be a loyal and trustworthy relationship as it’s important to have for all businesses as without that, you would have no audience and no trust.
The way I would integrate that into the work in terms of cost and format would be that the work would be produced on time, but with a tolerable time frame so in a way no one gets burnt out and loses motivation when animating that work.
DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS
The channel, my audience would want to be reached by is a mixture between a direct and retail channel since I would like the independent projects made by the business to be direct as it’s our own meanwhile for the retail channel, if a client commissions an animated advert for example, then the finished project can be passed on through their channel and also directly from our own website.
YouTube would work the best as it’s free to set up a channel and over time with a certain amount of subscribers and annual view count you can go through the process of monetisation which is where you can earn money from videos you put out. Other platforms like Vimeo or just through our own website, though the issue with that is while these options are also free, it might not have as higher reach compared to YouTube (since it’s a much more popular platform anyone uses).
For how that can be integrated into my audience’s routines is by posting scheduled videos and having premieres to build up hype and also to engage with the audience when they are watching the videos.
AUDIENCE SEGMENTS
I’m mainly aiming for people who enjoy watching animation and also for those who are interested in being within the animation area within the creative industry. I would also include those who want a stand out marketing/advertisement campaign for their companies.
I would definitely say that the most important audience to my business would be people who enjoy watching animation (or even producing animations of their own) since the business strives for that passion in the sector. Otherwise, if they didn’t have that passion or interest, then there wouldn’t be an audience for my business.
COST STRUCTURE
The important costs are the ones that pay for equipment such as PC desktops (and monitors to go with), drawing tablets, animation software, desks and comfortable chairs as without that there would be nothing to work on and the majority of the business just wouldn’t exist.
The most expensive key resources and activities would be the computers since they need to be high-end and high quality in order to work at a fast and productive way, without it then the quality of the animations and the efficiency of producing it could decrease, which would then lead to barely any clients/interest. Drawing tablets and software are also the most expensive since Adobe is subscription only and it’s professional standard for the creative industry but with it brings a large price each month and yearly, meanwhile drawing tablets can range though if we wanted the monitor based tablets, it can go up further in price.
REVENUE STREAM
For the audience who views the content, they don’t have to pay money necessarily they would pay by watching those videos on the internet (through monetisation) but they do have the choice of paying for extra content through channel plans or donations, other services like Patreon offer this monthly subscription plan where creators of any size can earn money with extra content. Client work would also bring the money since they are commissioning the work for their own use.
Payment would most likely be preferred through normal payment methods like through invoices.
For monetisation money, it can vary depending on the amount of views on each video released on a YouTube channel though there is also the possibility of demonetisation, as the content of the video may be restricted due to their guidelines (e.g. age restricted videos). YouTube’s channel membership costs around £4.99 (varies depending on currency) per person monthly, which would come with perks like extra content and icons on subscribers’ names. Patreon (or any other subscription service) can also vary, just from £1 people can pay for content though there is an added 2.5% tax taken which is given to the host site.
